As a practice educator you can facilitate this process through providing time and space&nbsp;within their timetable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It&nbsp;is&nbsp;also&nbsp;important that you feel confident in facilitating discussion about their performance&nbsp;and encouraging them to identify appropriate actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group has-light-accent-grey-background-color has-background\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>Resources that might be helpful to look at:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You can watch our <a href=\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/915068629\/b569fd94ec?share=copy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lunch and Learn session on Reflective Practice<\/a> that might benefit both you and your students thinking about it!<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nes.scot.nhs.uk\/our-work\/ahp-professional-portfolio\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AHP Professional Portfolio-<\/a>&nbsp;provides templates for reflection&nbsp;and a way of recording learning and development. <strong>Is&nbsp;available to students, registered staff and HCSWs.<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hcpc-uk.org\/standards\/meeting-our-standards\/reflective-practice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Reflective practice<\/a>&#8211; HCPC&nbsp;highlights the importance of the skill of reflection for AHP practice.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>We\u2019ve included some reflective models that might be helpful in <strong>Appendix 5:<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/ahp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2025\/08\/Reflection-Template-Driscolls.docx\">Driscoll\u2019s Model of Reflection<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/ahp\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/19\/2025\/08\/Reflection-Template-Gibbs.docx\">Gibbs Model of Structured Reflection<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><a id=\"_msocom_1\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Practice Educator Feedback<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<p>Giving&nbsp;constructive and balanced&nbsp;feedback is important throughout a placement to support development of knowledge and skills. Information&nbsp;provided&nbsp;at mid-way or the end of a placement should not be a shock to the student as there should have been opportunities for constructive feedback and reflection to help shape their knowledge and skills throughout&nbsp;the placement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a
