{"id":413,"date":"2025-01-29T09:58:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T09:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/cet\/perioperative-practice\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T08:36:38","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T07:36:38","slug":"perioperative-practice","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/cet\/specialist-courses\/perioperative-practice\/","title":{"rendered":"Perioperative Practice"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This course addresses the care of the perioperative patient, including roles and responsibilities of the scrub\/circulating practitioner, related policies, consent and capacity, patient safety, human factors, never events, decontamination and sterilisation of equipment and environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Six study days delivered Face-to-Face OR&nbsp;via Microsoft Teams (08.45 -16:30hrs).<br>Please&nbsp;be aware the days will be a mixture of Face-to-Face,&nbsp;live virtual sessions and independent study activities.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Clinical Educator virtual meetings&nbsp;are available to all participants&nbsp;to lend additional&nbsp;support.&nbsp;In addition to these study days, participants are required to complete work-based learning and independent study.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This course is assessed by the completion of clinical competencies and reflective accounts related to theoretical subjects delivered.
