{"id":422,"date":"2025-01-29T09:58:48","date_gmt":"2025-01-29T09:58:48","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/cet\/prompt\/"},"modified":"2025-06-24T08:26:10","modified_gmt":"2025-06-24T07:26:10","slug":"prompt","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/staff.nhslothian.scot\/cet\/registered-midwives\/prompt\/","title":{"rendered":"PROMPT"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Obstetric Emergencies<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This is also known as the PROMPT course (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This training day will support staff in developing and updating skills to care for women in emergency situations in the antenatal, intra-partum and postnatal periods.&nbsp; The course uses simulation in the clinical environment to help participants gain experience of managing a range of obstetric emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Target staff group<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Midwife, obstetrician, anaesthetist, maternity support worker or ODP working in Women\u2019s Services in NHS Lothian across sites (RIE and SJH). Community midwives are recommended to do the COMET course (Community Obstetric Emergencies).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning outcomes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Refresh and enhance existing skills and knowledge relating to the management of a range of obstetric emergencies including: septic shock, major obstetric haemorrhage, eclampsia, shoulder dystocia, anaesthetic emergencies, maternal collapse and resuscitation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Identify key components of good communication and team working in order to deal effectively with emergency situations<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For more information contact <a href=\"mailto:loth.clinicalskillstraining@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk\">loth.clinicalskillstraining@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Obstetric Emergencies This is also known as the PROMPT course (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training).
