This course focuses on the structured A-E approach, NEWS2 and SBAR-D to identify, report\/escalate, and support the management of a deteriorating patient, with emphasis on effective teamwork and communication.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Intended Audience<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Healthcare support workers in acute adult areas across various sites<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Learning outcomes<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to recognise and respond to the deteriorating adult patient in acute clinical areas<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Perform a robust A-E assessment and discuss appropriate interventions and escalation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Calculate an accurate NEWS2 and rationalise interventions and escalation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apply the SBAR-D communication tool to various scenarios<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Consolidate prior knowledge about the importance of fluid balance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This course can be booked in eESS.
