NHS Education for Scotland (NES) is an education and training body and a national health board within NHS Scotland. It is responsible for developing and delivering healthcare education and training for the NHS, health and social care sector and other public bodies.

There are two NES Practice Educators hosted in NHS Lothian. Practice Educators are part of the NES vision to support better quality care and outcomes for every person in Scotland through a knowledgeable and skilled workforce. They work closely with the NHS Lothian Clinical Education and Training Team and support nurses, midwives, and healthcare support workers in practice areas.
