These symptoms can put them at risk of falling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sources of support<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NHS Lothian ENT Balance Clinic<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a specialised multidisciplinary clinic to investigate those who do not have BPPV and where history and examination makes an otological condition likely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Multiple studies have shown that in patients referred to Balance Clinics:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>By FAR the commonest diagnoses are BPPV and Vestibular Migraine<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Please see below for management details:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/BPPVBenignParoxysmalPositionalVertigo\">BPPV<\/a>\u00a0\u2013<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/refhelp\/guidelines\/BPPVBenignParoxysmalPositionalVertigo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) (nhslothian.scot)opens a new window<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Vestibular migraine \u2013 diagnosis and\u00a0\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/apps.nhslothian.scot\/files\/sites\/2\/Migraine-in-primary-care-advice-Nov-2024.pdf\">Microsoft Word &#8211;
