Account Access
What will happen to my IT account when on maternity leave?
As per NHS Scotland Policy, all accounts are deactivated after 60 days inactivity. To ensure your account remains active, you will need to log in on a regular basis, for example, logging in to view your e-payslip.
Should you need to access your account and it has been deactivated, please contact your line manager. Your line manager will need to submit an account reactivation via the eHealth Service desk NHS Lothian e85050 Service Desk. Please note, eHealth require at least 2 weeks to process the account reactivation request.
I’m scheduled to undertake a KIT day; how do I access my IT account?
If your account has been deactivated your Line Manager will need to submit an account reactivation via the eHealth Service desk NHS Lothian e85050 Service Desk. This request should be submitted at least 2 weeks prior to your scheduled KIT day to ensure it is in place.
KIT Days
How are KIT days paid?
Payments for KIT days should be processed through EESS. These are paid 1 month in arrears, i.e. hours worked January will be paid February.
If on SMP only or unpaid maternity leave, you will receive payment for the full shift worked. If on half pay plus SMP, you will receive no more than the full value of the shift. See below for example.
11.5 hour shift = £198.18
1 day of half maternity pay = £75.00
The KIT day payment will be £198.18 – £75.00 = £123.18. £123.18 will be paid under code 3138 – KIT Days Non-superannuable. You will see the payment for £123.18 under KIT days and the remaining £75.00 will be included in the maternity pay as normal.
