Sarah is on maternity leave but is keen to keep her skills fresh and maintain her NMC requirements. She arranges five KIT days<\/strong> spaced out over three months. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIT Day 1 \u2013 Mandatory training<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah completes moving-and-handling, infection control and fire safety training. Her manager schedules all sessions for one morning to make it easier for her. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIT Day 2 \u2013 Service update session<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah attends a team huddle and meets new staff. She also gets briefed on changes to rotas, community pathways, and documentation updates. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIT Day 3 \u2013 Shadow shift (no patient caseload \u2013 observational only)<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah shadows a colleague for a short shift to observe updates to clinical practice. She doesn\u2019t hold responsibility for patients \u2014 this is purely observational. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIT Day 4 \u2013 Revalidation preparation<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah uses a KIT Day to complete reflective accounts and professional reading, supported by her manager.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

KIT Day 5 \u2013 Return-to-work planning<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sarah meets her manager to discuss her phased return, flexible working request and any adjustments needed. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Outcome:<\/strong>
