Quality Standards for Practice Based Learning (QSPL)

The Quality Standards for Practice Based Learning (QSPL) have been created so that learners and those individuals and organisations who support them understand their responsibilities and expectations in relation to practice based learning. For information about the indicators and the audit process AHPs engage in to ensure high quality placements, please go to the NES website.

QSPL Section 1For individuals undertaking Practice-based Learning (PrBL) (Students)
QSPL Section 2For individuals supporting and assessing learners in the Practice-based Learning (PrBL) environment (Practice Educators)
QSPL Section 3For AHP professions as a whole, managers and educators supporting Practice-based Learning
QSPL Section 4For organisations providing Practice-based Learning (PrBL) experiences (e.g. NHS Lothian)
QSPL Section 5For approved Education Institutions (i.e. Higher Education Institutions (HEI) or other formal education provider)

As a practice educator, you should contribute to these processes as part of your team/ profession.

Jisc student survey poster Sept 24

Getting student feedback about placements is an important part of this process and so we encourage all practice educators to ask their students to fill this survey out.  This may be alongside other feedback you gather within your team/ profession.
