There are a variety of resources which you may find useful in relation to practice education:

Campaign for LearningA useful resource for all grades of staff.
Flying StartA fantastic resource aimed at newly qualified practitioners. It was developed by NES to provide support for AHP’s, Nurses and Midwives in their first year of practice. This is available for all staff across Scotland and there is the expectation that all new staff to the NHS will complete this programme. You must register on the Home and require an ATHENs user name and password for this.
 
Although it is aimed at new staff there is a huge amount of information on this site which would benefit more experienced staff. The site covers the following:

Staff who are more than one year post qualification can still use this as long as they do not register . You can enter either by the main site or click on any of the topic areas above. You can also register as a mentor.

Supporting Students:

Queen Margaret UniversityInformation for staff engaged in providing student placements. There is information about each disciplines courses and relevant documentation which may be used during placement e.g. assessments etc.
Generic Guiding Principles – for those supporting learning in the workplaceIt is designed to help prepare these individuals by providing guidance on the following topics:

Turas ‘Being and Becoming a Practice Educator’ ModuleThe aim of this programme is to support practice educators to take on the role of supporting student learning through their practice based learning experiences. Aimed at new and existing Allied Health Professional (AHP) practice educators. This programme was developed in collaboration between Edinburgh Napier University, Glasgow Caledonian University, Queen Margaret University, Robert Gordon University and Strathclyde University.
