Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) Standards

Registration renewals 

Each profession renews at a set time every two years at the same time. You should be notified when your renewal period is coming up.

CPD requirements 

Continuing professional development (CPD) is the way in which registrants continue to learn and develop throughout their careers so they keep their skills and knowledge up to date and are able to practise safely and effectively.

CPD Audit 

During each renewal we randomly select 2.5 per cent of each profession and HCPC ask them to submit their CPD profile. There is guidance on how to prepare and provide your CPD profile and evidence available here.

It can be helpful to maintain your CPD record using Turas AHP Professional Portfolio which allows you to record learning and reflections as well as upload relevant documents as evidence. You can then create a specific ‘share pack’ to send to HCPC if you are selected for audit.
