What is it? | Launched in 2013, Canva is an online design and visual communication platform, where you can create, share and collaborate on your designs. |
What can I use it for? | Canva can be used to create logos, PowerPoints, posters and more, with templates for every design need. You can share editable links with colleagues to work on designs together. |
Who can use it? | Anyone! From beginner to expert, Canva has tutorials, guides and more to help you how you need it. |
Am I allowed/ how do I seek permission? | Staff across NHS Lothian are already using Canva – you’ll probably have seen some designs created through the platform already. This being said, ensure you verify with your line manager/ team lead before signing up or using it, and ensure your designs are approved before sharing. |
Where do I start? | You must have an account in order to use Canva. You can sign up for a free account via the website. Afterwards, take a look at some tutorials: 1. What is it? | Padlet hosts a real-time collaborative web platform in which users can upload, organise, and share content to virtual bulletin boards called “padlets” |
What can I use it for? | Padlet can be used to create and collaborate on group sessions, discussion boards, Q&A sessions and more. It’s newest feature, Sandbox, is being used as an alternative for the now retired Google Jamboard. |
Who can use it? | Anyone! Padlet prides itself on being intuitive, user friendly and aesthetically well designed. |
Am I allowed/ how do I seek permission? | Staff across NHS Lothian and wider networks are already using Padlet – you may have used it in a previous session already. Verify with a line manager/ team lead if you are unsure. |
