AHP Learning and Development Strategic Framework 2024 – 2027
Our vision: a highly skilled, capable, sustainable and future ready AHP workforce; always learning, adapting and delivering quality healthcare for the people of the Lothians.
You might have heard rumblings about the launch of the AHP Learning & Development Strategic Framework. This framework is important because learning and development:
- underpin delivery of safe, effective and person centred care;
- support and enhance staff wellbeing;
- enable a highly capable and future ready workforce;
- support career progression, motivate and engage;
- support recruitment and retention.
The framework was created by a broad group of AHPs from across all professions at all levels of practice and we have organised it with commitments and actions around four key themes: Culture, People, Capabilities, Governance.
We are also creating an AHP Learning and Development Group to take actions forward. Please get in touch with LOTH.AHPPracticeEducation@nhs.scot if you are interested in joining.
An Innovation, Research, and Improvement (IRI) Strategy for Allied Health Professions in NHS Lothian 2022-2027
In June 2022, NHS Lothian’s first AHP Innovation, Research, and Improvement (IRI) Strategy was endorsed by our AHP Extended Leadership Team. As “Evidence, Research and Development” is one of the 4 pillars of practice, NHS Lothian feels strongly about supporting AHPs in exploring these areas, hence, the strategy was formed.
