New Protected Time Policy for Staff Network Engagement
The Corporate Management Team has approved protected time for staff network members. This allows network co-chairs 1 hour per week and network members 1.5 hours per month within their normal working hours to attend meetings and events, subject to the exigencies of the service.
If you wish to attend any staff network meetings taking place during working hours, please speak to your line manager about arranging for you to attend. Meeting dates for all staff networks can be found on their individual pages.

How do I record this?
This time is not classed as leave but as part of the regular workday. It should be considered the same as going to any other work-related meeting.
How will this work for in-person meetings?
At the moment, all meetings that take place during the working day are via Teams. If the Staff Networks go back to in-person meetings, these will be hybrid so that anyone who can’t attend in person can attend via Teams.
How will staff be supported to access the meetings?
Wherever possible, rooms will be booked to allow network members to attend together. We hope that with greater engagement, there will be network members on sites who will set up meeting rooms for others on their site to attend.
