Tip – Make sure that the role has ‘Modern Apprentice’ in the title
Joining the NHS as a Healthcare Support Worker through a Modern Apprenticeship was my first ever job, and it helped me grow enormously both personally and professionally. Starting full-time on a busy ward while working towards my SVQ Level 2 was a steep learning curve and, at times, challenging. However, these experiences built my confidence, resilience, and compassion, making this an invaluable stage in my personal and professional development. I genuinely loved my role and found it incredibly rewarding to care for patients and support them through some of their most vulnerable moments. It was during this time that I discovered my passion for working within the NHS, where I feel I can make a meaningful difference and have found a career that gives me a real sense of purpose and fulfilment.
