Higher National Certificate (HNC) Healthcare Practice (Endorsed Route)
APPLICANT:
Healthcare Support Workers employed within NHS Lothian.
Time: Full Time 1 year/ Part Time 2 years
ENTRY:
SCQF level 6 such as NPA, SVQ2 or equivalent. IELTS 5.5
Enables Progression into 2nd year of Pre Registration Nursing Programme (Napier University)
Full time course must be contracted to work minimum of 35 hrs a week
Part Time course must be contracted to work minimum of 19 hrs a week

Higher National Certificate (HNC) Healthcare Practice (Non Endorsed) Pilot
APPLICANT:
For anyone not employed by NHS Lothian.
Recruited into Healthcare support worker posts for 11.5hrs a week.
To achieve minimum of 288 clinical hours over the time of the programme.
Time: 1 year
ENTRY:
National 5 in Maths and Biology or equivalent plus 3 others, 2 Highers including English.
English Proficiency Requirements
ILETS 5.5, be aware that university ILETS requirements may be higher.
Entry to a nursing degree or other health related programmes.
3 days a week college with one day a week clinical placement(11.5hrs)

Open University BSc Honours Programme
APPLICANT:
Healthcare Support Workers employed within NHS Lothian.
Time: 4 years part time
ENTRY:
Work minimum 26 hours a week
SCQF Level 5 English & Maths/equivalent
Work in an approved practice learning environment.
Undertaking nursing degree while employed
Online learning with clinical placements
