This Pathway consists of the following study days/workshops:        

Transition to Newly Qualified Registered Nurse/ Midwife

All Newly Qualified Registered Nurses/ Midwives, including international nurses, should attend the Newly Qualified Registered Nurse and Midwife Transition to Registered Practice study day.  There are dates available throughout the year, all dates will be 0900-1600 delivered via MS Teams which can be booked via the link below. This day will include:  

  • Transition to Registered Practice, 
  • Preceptorship and Clinical Supervision
  • Active Bystander challenging Micro-Aggression
  • Patient Voice
  • Patient Experience
  • Next Steps
  • Practice Supervisor Expectations 
  • NES Flying Start® Programme, 

This study day is available to staff who are within their first 12 months of registered practice and have not attended any previous Newly Qualified Registered Nurse Programme.

Leadership and Teamwork:

This 2 hour online workshop is available to all newly qualified nurses, midwives & International nurses. The session will offer participants the opportunity to consider and reflect on areas for improvement in order to enhance their leadership and team working skills

Medicines Matter 🙂

This 2.5 hour online workshop is available for ALL NMC registered nurses and midwives, at any stage of their career.   This session covers the governance around medications and can be accessed for CPD/Refresher session or by NQRN/M. 

Restorative Supervision:

 Following discussion with line manager each Newly Qualified NMC Registrant can book a series of 4 x 2 hour group Restorative Clinical Supervision sessions.  These will be available virtually or face-to-face on some clinical sites.  You can access any cohort that suits you, you do not have to work on the site the sessions are delivered.    (Newly qualified midwives will be offered clinical supervision linked to the series of study days delivered jointly by our Midwifery PEF’s and midwifery educators in CET and clinical practice) 

Flying Start

This will consist of 3 workshops which can be booked on eESS. Each workshop lasts 45 mins. The aim is to support NQN/M who are registered to work through the units in a supportive environment with peers and PEF support

Preceptorship

All newly qualified registrants will have a preceptor.
