They can also give advice on consumer rights via their consumer helpline, support witnesses in courts through the Witness Service and give pension guidance to people aged over 50.
Money Advice Scotland (moneyadvicescotland.org.uk/ opens a new window) – Money Advice Scotland is Scotland’s money charity. They offer help for people who are in debt as well as a range of information on financial wellbeing.
Money Matters opens a new window has a wealth of knowledge and has adopted a holistic approach to dealing with advice issues. Their Welfare Rights service includes representation at Social Security and Disability appeal hearings. They are pro-active at providing in-work benefits advice such as Tax Credit, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Benefit.
