Urgent Support

NHS 111, The Samaritans and Breathing Space

If you are in crisis or feel unsafe or at risk to yourself or others, then you should contact 111 or 999, your own GP or attend your nearest Emergency Department as soon as possible for anyone who needs immediate support.

What For?


NHS 111 can provide advice when you need help urgently for your mental health, but it’s not an emergency.

The Samaritans  whenever you need to talk to someone

Breathing space is a confidential service for anyone aged over 16 in Scotland experiencing low mood, depression or anxiety.

When?


NHS 111 and Samaritans are available 24/7.

Breathing space is available 6pm – 2am Monday to Thursday and 6pm Friday – 6am Monday.

Evidence-based digital resources to help staff with issues such as stress, anxiety, low mood, insomnia/poor sleep and resilience.

What For?


A wide range of resources offering  advice, information and support on mental, physical and financial wellbeing which signposts colleagues, carers and managers to other sources of help locally and nationally.

National Workforce Specialist Service

The Workforce Specialist Service (WSS) is a primary care-led, multidisciplinary mental health service with expertise in confidentially treating regulated health and social services professionals for any regulated practitioner working in health (primary or secondary) and social care who is registered with a professional body..

What For?


Professionals suffering from a range of mental health issues such as stress, anxiety, depression or addiction, with a focus on the impact this may have on their work.

When?


Monday – Friday 8am-8pm, Sat 8-2pm
