Aim of the session 


To equip NHS Lothian staff with knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, address and prevent microaggressions in the workplace, promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity and empathy.

What participants will gain from the session 

By the end of the training, participants will be able to: 

  • Define microaggressions and understand their impact on individuals, teams and NHSL. 
  • Recognise common examples of microaggressions in workplace and healthcare settings. 
  • Reflect on personal biases and behaviours to foster self-awareness. 
  • Develop strategies for responding to and preventing microaggressions. 
  • Signpost colleagues to further support and resources.
