Aim of the session 


To improve understanding and application of the social model of disability in healthcare and empower staff to make reasonable adjustments. 

What participants will gain from the session 

By the end of the training, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand and apply the social model of disability to their work
  • Identify the key legal protections for disabled people and why they exist
  • Recognise barriers faced by disabled people in accessing services and employment
  • Identify practical, reasonable adjustments to remove barriers and improve equality, diversity and inclusion
  • Reflect on personal and organisational practices
