
Anti-Racism

Aim of the session
To enhance knowledge and understanding of where racism stems from and how it manifests today. Importantly, this training will build confidence in understanding, acknowledging and challenging racism in NHS Lothian.
What participants will gain from the session
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Understand key terminology relating to Anti-Racism.
- Understand historical context and systemic nature of racism and its various forms.
- Understand the ongoing impact of racism on individuals and communities.
- Recognise the impact of racism in health care.
- Learn about legal and ethical duties relating to racism.
- Reflect on the lived experiences of BME/EM communities.
- Reflect on individual bias and the impact of being told one side of the story
- Identify simple, practical actions to support inclusive practice
- Provide information about further learning and resources
