Aim of the session 


The aim of this session is to increase participants’ knowledge and understanding of the experiences of Gypsy/Traveller communities and empower participants to reflect on their practice and recognise steps participants can take to be inclusive and help reduce inequality experienced by the Gypsy/ Traveller community. 

What participants will gain from the session 

By the end of the training, participants will be able to: 

  • Understand key terms related to Gypsy/Traveller communities. 
  • Recognise common barriers to inclusive healthcare. 
  • Uphold legal and ethical duties to provide inclusive care. 
  • Reflect on the lived experiences of Gypsy/Traveller communities. 
  • Identify simple, practical actions to support inclusive practice 
  • Provide information about further learning and resources
