
Understanding and Challenging Microaggressions

Aim of the session
To equip NHS Lothian staff with knowledge, skills, and confidence to recognise, address and prevent microaggressions in the workplace, promoting a culture of respect, inclusivity and empathy.
What participants will gain from the session
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Define microaggressions and understand their impact on individuals, teams and NHSL.
- Recognise common examples of microaggressions in workplace and healthcare settings.
- Reflect on personal biases and behaviours to foster self-awareness.
- Develop strategies for responding to and preventing microaggressions.
- Signpost colleagues to further support and resources.
